Writing has many purposes: it can be educational, entertaining, informative, promotional, or therapeutic.
The main idea is that the written word engages readers and entices them to walk into the ink slinger's world. It matters not if the work is fiction or nonfiction, for business or leisure; writing is about conveying a message and doing so in a way that elicits emotion or action.
